From our friends
Thank you for joining the movement!
This year's theme was ‘WAI’ and Mother Nature definitely heard us! Thanks to the 27,000 amazing people who took part in Southern Cross Round the Bays today and made it an incredible event (despite the rain!). You moved and grooved your way to the finish line and in doing so raised a whopping $230,843 (and counting!) for incredible and deserving charities - Ka Pai! Bring on 2025!
#What’sYourWai
Our team at Sunday Star-Times were on a sneaky mission to find eight of the best-dressed participants! If you rocked your best Wai costume on the day and shared it with the hashtag #WhatsYourWai, you might be among the triumphant eight! Stay tuned, grab your copy of the paper on March 10 to see if you made the cut! In the meantime, check out these swimmingly good "Wai" inspired costumes!

What we raised
Charity is at the heart of Southern Cross Round the Bays, and we’re stoked to let you know that we have raised over $230,843 (and counting!) for 94 deserving charities. On top of that, we donated $25,000 to Live Ocean Foundation and $10,000 to The Y North. This is an outstanding effort, well done to all those who ran for a reason and supported a worthy cause this year.
