Ports of Auckland Round the Bays has been an annual event in Auckland since 1972, initiated by the Auckland Joggers Club. The first run attracted 1200 participants and has now grown to be one of the world's largest fun-runs with almost 40,000 registered runners.

Today the event is a joint collaboration between the Auckland Joggers Club and Fairfax Media.

The run is 8.4km long over a flat course that follows the contours of Auckland's Waitemata Harbour. It starts in the city on Quay St and finishes on the waterfront at St Heliers Bay.

Funds raised by the 2014 event are dedicated to Radio Lollipop, Cystic Fibrosis Auckland Branch, The Hearing House, Crohn’s and Colitis New Zealand, Raukatauri Music Therapy Trust, Kidsline and Fairfax First Books.

Thank you to Radio Lollipop, one of the beneficiary charities in 2014, who volunteered some of their time to help out at the Expo. The money raised through the event has helped to fund a new studio, bringing music, smiles and laughter to thousands of hospitalised children across New Zealand.
