Sign up early and take advantage of our cheaper entry rates

Designed for all ages and fitness levels. The 8.4km course is flat and you get to choose your own adventure as you near the finish line: stay on the course or take the scenic route along the beach.

Have an infant taking part? Infants 0-4 year olds are FREE to enter. Just sign them up online to receive a medal at the finish line.

Picking your start group

Choosing a start group is about starting near others moving at your pace, so the course stays safe and enjoyable for everyone. Your race time doesn't begin until your cross the start line mats, so there's no need to rush. You can still knock off your personal best!

On your entry form, select the start group that best matches your ability and time it will take you to complete the course.

If you are taking part as a family or have children in your group, please all sign up under the start group based on the youngest in your group. See details below.

Who can enter?

Everyone - any age, any fitness stage. Just pick the start group that matches your pace.

What start group should I choose?

On your entry form, select the start group that best matches your ability and time it will take for you to complete the course.

If in doubt, start further back. There's no rush! Your race time doesn't begin until you cross the start line mats.

Can I bring a pushchair or buggy?

Yes - just select the Walker start group on your entry form for yourself and your little one.

For everyone’s safety, those with buggys and pushchairs aren't able to sign up under the Runner, Jogger or Elite start groups.

Can I create a team?

Yes - head to the Teams page to get started.

What if I can’t take part anymore?

Entries aren’t refundable, but you can transfer your entry to someone else through your Race Roster entry dashboard. Transfer fee is $20, plus credit card fees.

Course info

The course runs along Christchurch’s waterfront bays, from Tidal View to Thomson Park. We'll be adding more details soon.
